What are these?

This is a central list of products which the system stores and you maintain, this allows you to hold a single product code/description/dimension which can then be added to the customers' products as and when that customer needs to store the product.

When are they used?

When you have multiple customers storing and using the same stock items and you want consistency in the setup and ease of identification.

How to use this feature

This is switched on at a customer account level. Within the customer setup you need to enable the option “System Product Codes” thereafter all new products will come from the master system product table.

How does it work?

This means next time you add a product you will be asked for key information to identify the product.

We then search the master system product table for the product, if it exists we then create a record for the customer taking all the details from the master record. You simply have to update invoicing and check the entry and then save.

Where the product does not existin in the master table you can create a new product, when you enter the details it will then leave a new record in the master system product table. If you are linked to the external source (see below) we can check their database and load the details from their system into the master and customer product tables.

External Sources

We are able to link wines and spirits to use an external product database maintained by Livex, these product codes are known as LWIN’s and are a 7 digit product ID followed by a further 11 digits which designate the vintage, pack and single sizes

Using an external source requires a license for Vision

If you are using LWIN’s then you will require membership of Livex

The form you open (see below) allows you to add new products into this master system database, however this is usually automatic, upon adding a new product to a customer it automatically adds an entry into the master system table.
