Document scanning is available for ALL deliveries, Collections currently if scanned are just attached to the order. The document scanning can also mark a delivery as complete if it is not already marked so if you use this option you need to manually confirm your notes with issues and then scan them and only scan those without issues which sets the delivered flag.

Images are stored securely in that they can not be retrieved manually you have to use either the distribution system or EDI or VCIS.

On this screen, you would be able to Preview, Scan and Save the document.

It will Scan the document and on the Upload screen, it will read the Barcode for it to Upload to the server, this will be configured on the Settings screen

If there is an issue with the Upload and it is unable to ready the barcode on the Save tab, you would be able to Rescan and Save the Document.

Introduction

Delivery / collection notes generated by Vision once signed become Proof of Delivery (POD) or Proof of Collection (POC), this application handles the scanning of those notes and a license is required to use it.

Vision notes always include a barcode, this application automatically reads the barcode as it’s being scanned and a background service (Vision Image Uploader) uploads the files for storage in Vision Distribution (PODs) and Warehousing (POCs).

The options configured in the ‘Settings’ tab are displayed.

Preview will connect to the configured scanner and display the scan on the right side, it isn’t saved.

Scan and Save will start the scanner, if the ADF is enabled and loaded each of the pages will be scanned, otherwise a single page will be scanned. As the documents are scanned it attempts to find the barcode, scans are moved to the ‘Save’ tab.

Scanned images are displayed, the barcode field will contain the barcode if it was found, otherwise the user needs to enter it & ‘Save’.

Upload

It’s recommended to use the software directly connected to the scanner. However a network scanner can be used instead, in this case the documents scanned & saved by the network scanner can be seen in this tab.

Click ‘Upload’ which will attempt to read the barcode from all of the documents in the directory. If the barcode cannot be found the user would have to enter it manually.

Scans are moved to the ‘Final Save Path’ when they have their barcode found / manually entered.

For POD’s uploaded to Distribution, the system can automatically mark the record as ‘delivered’. In the case of issues with the delivery, these should be confirmed manually prior to scanning the note.
