Alternate warehouse sales

Alternate warehouse sales allow the operator to check stock levels in other warehouses and sell from those, the operator is given a number of options for the delivery of those goods.

This option is only available when the sales account has been changed to the customer’s own in the sales entry screen.

‘Alternate Stock Warehouses’ first need to be setup in Commerce, see https://visionsoftware.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/VC/pages/2716499969/Initial+setup#Alternate-Stock-Warehouses.

After adding a product to the sale the operator is informed if it’s not in stock in the current warehouse. Pressing the item displays the quantity editor screen with a button to allow you to check for stock in the alternate warehouses and specify where the stock should come from.

Upon proceeding to payment the operator is given the delivery options possible for the sale:

TAKE ALL

The customer will take all stock in the sale with them now.

A single sales order is created in Commerce for all stock from the current warehouse.

TAKE NONE - DELIVER

The customer will take none of the stock in the sale with them, a delivery will be created instead.

A single sales order is created in Commerce for all stock from the current warehouse.

TAKE AVAILABLE - DLY REST

The customer will take the stock available in the current warehouse, everything else will be put on a separate consolidated delivery.

A sales order is created in Commerce for the stock available in the current warehouse, transfer orders are created to send the remaining stock from the other warehouses to the consolidated warehouse, and an order created to despatch from there.

TAKE NONE - CONSOLIDATED DLY

The customer will take none of the stock in the sale and receive a single delivery instead.

Transfer orders will be created in Commerce to get stock to the “Consolidated Warehouse” with a separate single despatch order for onwards delivery to the customer.

UNCONSOLIDATED DLYS

The customer will take none of the stock in the sale with them, they will receive separate deliveries from each of the warehouses the stock comes from.

A sales order is created in Commerce for each of the warehouses the stock comes from for direct delivery to the customer.
