Explanation

Top Menu Group

We have grouped all the items into specific groups to make things easier and the groups are in a workflow sequence so that everything needed to perform a particular function are in the same area.

Right Side

This is called the navigation bar and it allows you to perform quick searches for information in the data. The items shown all the time are the ones that are used on a frequent basis and the ones at the bottom of the list are the Admin and Configuration items which are rarely used, so to save space these are minimised.

When you click an item you will see the search grid, where you can enter details, see the Navigation tab for further details on how to search.

Bottom (not shown)

When searching and the results contain more than one record, these will be shown within a grid at the bottom of the page. Please see bellow example for all orders placed on the 29th September 2021 going to postcode CM15 0LB.

The results grid is specific to the screen which initiated the search result, so if you are searching for products within an order and leave the order the result grid will remain but will not be of any further use as the order is closed now. So it is best to maintain a clean desktop and close the result grids often.

The navigation and filter views are situated within their own tabs on the right-hand side of the screen. these are quick searches and are used to access data quickly as well as being used within forms to provide results for entries into the form.

The most comonly used nativation bars are already expanded for easy use. On the Navigation Panel, simply click on the item you wish to open.

The panel will then switch to the Filter Options enabling you to search for an item you require.

The example shown is when searching for an existing Delivery.

The filter options will provide you with the fields you can use to search.

At this point, you could simply press the search button (which is the same as the F11 option in a form) and it will provide you with the first 500 results.

Otherwise, you can enter into the filter panel, either

  • Simple text entry or using a drop-down option.

  • Using wild characters in text fields to provide a more precise result set.

Wildcard characters in searching are the * and ? keys, for example.

BLU* will return anything beginning with BLU.

?BLU will return anything with BLU at the end.

using * on both sides of BLU will return anything with BLU within the text.

Using the ? means any single character.

e.g. Glen Morang?? is any character in each of the?

Click the search button, will return the results page at the bottom of the screen.

The results panel appears after each search however if there is only a single result from your search then this will automatically be displayed.

Otherwise, you will have to use the search results to select the result you want to view by double clicking on the row with the left hand mouse button.

Once you have finished with the results be sure to clean up and close the results by pressing the X on the top right corner.

If you do not close the results windows, which are minimized at the bottom of the screen they will build up, so remember to close the results after use.
