Switching to API
Switching from Email to API
Existing senders of XML format need to carry out some basic tests to ensure that API will work for their incoming XML transmissions. Further details of this can be found in Stage 3 testing mentioned below
The process is
Log a ticket to editest@visionsuite.co.uk requesting your API username and password. You will need to supply
Warehouse Company Name
Stock Holding Customer Account Code
The Site code for your site (2 characters)
We then will check your existing incoming orders which we would be receiving on email, and we are looking to ensure that you are achieving a 95% success rate or higher with those incoming orders.
This means we will be looking at log files and notification emails being sent to you ensuring that you have been minimising any issues and we have no long standing or unaddressed issues.
If this is achieved then an API credential is issued. When you begin sending your API test entries, these will be using “TEST” mode and will not be processed. In your first tests you should ensure that you are not receiving any API knock back responses (you are looking for the 200 OK response)
You should resolve any issues relating to the API knockbacks before asking us to assess the orders as any of these errors will halt the test process until they are resolved.
When you are ready for us to check your API submissions, we would be looking for around three days of orders for comparison and those should be the same as the orders you are still sending on email, however if you are unable to send those then the data you are sending needs to be as realistic as possible (this method will take slightly longer to assess)
Once you have had two-three days of succesful transmissions contact us to let us know providing us with your start date/time (this stops us looking at older orders where you may have had issues) and we will check the inbound messages.
We will check your incoming API test orders to your email live orders to ensure they are both the same, this means you can not make changes during this stage of the process.
This will not effect your existing sending of orders via email during this test.
We will review those tests and if everything is good we will agree with you to set the flag to LIVE and at this point you need to switch from your existing method to API only.
The date of the change to LIVE will be agreed in advance.
