Pre-advice is received through the Vision EDI application, either directly from your customer's system or from VCIS. These pre-advices are then processed by opening, verifying, and saving them to ensure their availability in the main system.
You need to accept the pre-advices into the system before your customer is able to send a further pre-advice into this area to replace the original. Some systems are not configured to allow updates so please check with support if this is possible in the first place.
A new release containing an update to this is due in 2025 which will automatically import the pre-advice.
At this point it is not essential to have the product codes already in the system, it is quite acceptable here to enter only the descriptions and request details from the customer. This, however, is not normal with EDI or VCIS but it can happen. Usually, these types of customers supply product codes and all the details.
Warehouses running Vision Software can automatically send pre-advice data to the warehouses they send stock to.
