You can edit most parts of a sales order at specific times and the timing is depending on the order status at the time you wish to edit.

Any order being picked by the warehouse can not have the order edited however you can still modify the collection details until the point of collection and edit the sundries with no limit on it.

3 edit buttons used in the saved sales order screen are given below:

Edit Order

The ‘Edit Order’ button is used to edit all the fields from the Order Header tab to the Sundry Charges. Some fields like Sales Order Type and Stock Movement Type can’t be changed once the sales order is saved. The fields which are not allowed to edit will appear like faded fields.

Edit Collection

Allows you to update the collection information for the order without modification of the main order or set the status back to an earlier status. Clicking the ‘Edit Collection’ button will open a small window over the ‘View sales order’ screen, where you can update collection information.

Edit Sundries

Allows you to add new sundries to the order, these will be picked up the next time the invoicing system pulls the sundry extract from the orders, once in invoicing they can not be modified other than through invoicing.

Why Edit Collection/ Edit Sundries button provided when you can change it through Edit Order button?

After a certain stage, the system won’t allow you to do the changes for collection and sundries. Then you can use these buttons to make the changes.
