Info

Warning: This feature is currently unavailable.

Certain features within the Flex application can be used "Hands-Free".  This means that a voice in the application (her name is Lydia!) will dictate commands to the user (for example "Vision Flex ready for login, provide user ID"), and the user can feedback by speaking (for example "1234 OK").  This is particularly useful for certain warehouse processes such as picking when it may be advantageous to keep the users hands free for picking, instead of having to keep picking up the device to use the application.

Requirements:

  • Your device supports our voice software (all devices provided by Ontech are supported)

  • You have a headset connected

  • Your device has 'Voice Enabled' in the Vision Warehousing setup, see: 2. Device registration & user setup

  • You are running Flex version 0.5.4 onwards

Enable voice

...

  1. This may take some time but this happens only once (and any time the voice files change, which is rare, and then only the changed files are downloaded)
  2. When all files are downloaded, you will be taken to the main menu and Lydia will start talking

Speaking to Lydia

To aid accurate recognition, Lydia will usually be expecting you to speak only numbers to her, you must terminate the input with "OK".  For example, when logged in, Lydia will tell you the menu options, "Goods inwards 1, Stock management 2...", to enter the picking menu you say "6 OK".  Anything you say to Lydia must be terminated with "OK".

...

Apart from the menu / screen specific commands, there are some commands which can be used throughout the application at any time.
