Flex is an Android application fully integrated into Vision Warehousing, designed to be used by warehouse staff to assist with various warehouse processes. This page provides a glimpse of Flex Installation and Auto Updates. Further information will be available on the following pages:

 

Installing Flex on a Device

Flex app is either installed by the Vision support team and the device will be shipped back to you or we will provide you with all the installation instructions you need so that you can give it a go. It is a fairly simple process but you have to install the application and then configure the device in order for it to work. To learn how to install the application on your device please click here:

If you purchase the devices from Ontech we will not charge for the installation, if you try to install yourself and you need our help with a new device there will be a charge for this as it is outside the scope of the support agreement.

Flex Update

The Auto Update will occur only if you’ve enabled the auto-update option for Flex App in your device’s Play Store. Ontech publishes the latest versions to the Play Store that is compatible with the older versions of Warehousing. An update to your Flex server component may be required which we generally provide prior to releasing the Play store update. This is applicable to the device running v1.17.4 or higher.

Do the following for updating the Flex app in Play Store:

  1. Open the Play Store on your device.

  2. Go to your user profile.

  3. Press the “Manage apps and device” option.

  4. Press the “See details” option below the “updates available”.

  5. From the list of apps find if Flex is available for a new update, then press the Update button. The update will begin.

You will be able to use the system with an old version but it will eventually show errors and the recovery possibility might be an issue.
