Testing New Versions

Depending on your setup, you will either have your own test system or you will be entitled to use the generic Ontech test system to test and try out new releases.

We provide this through the cloud version, and a generic test system is available for all customers wishing to test and try out new functionality.

By default this is not enabled, but let customer services know and your email address will have the test system enabled.

Where customers have a multiple server setup then we will install a test system on the customer servers.

Test systems require service setups which need to be unique on a server. Therefore, to have both a test and live version, multiple servers are needed.

We do not classify a single server with a backup server as multiple server setups, the backup server can not be used for processing, and as such can not have the test services installed.

All other customers who operate on single server setups are able to access the generic test system which is operated by Ontech. We have attempted to setup a generic warehouse setup which emulates all the possible scenarios for site / warehouse / customer

 

To request access to a test system, you need to contact customer services who will enable this. The first time this is setup it will take around 10 working days, but thereafter your application software will be updated around the same date that the new version is released to customers.
