Countries
The “Countries” option is part of the administrative aspects of the system where you can add a new country, country code and related information into Vision Commerce.
Once you entered the values in the fields and clicked save button, you can’t make changes in future to the initial three fields: ISO (2) Code, ISO (3) Code, and Name.
Country Details Field
ISO (2) Code/ ISO (3)
The ISO country codes are internationally recognised codes that identify every nation and the majority of its dependent territories by a two-letter or three-letter combination. They function similarly to acronyms and stand for a nation or a state. For example, If we are adding the United Kingdom to the system, then the ISO (2) Code or the Alpha-2 Code will be GB and the ISO (3) Code or the Alpha-3 Code will be GBR.
Name
Please try to use the official name of the country in this field.
Insurance Cost/ Std Unit
Enter the insurance value for a standard unit.
Freight Cost/ Std Unit
Enter the transportation charges applied for a standard unit.
The system uses standard unit sizes which are defaulted for the wine industry at 9 litres per unit (12 bottles of 75cl), this can however be changed to something more suitable for your business by making a request to the support team.
The cost value will be calculated in the respective country’s base currency.
EC Marker
The EC Marker field is mandatory but will only be relevant if you are importing from and exporting to European Countries. This is a dropdown menu field where you can select one from 3 options- GB, EC, or Other.
GB - Includes four constituent countries that are part of the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
EC - All the countries in the European Continent
Other- All other countries that don’t come under GB and EC.
Auto Generate Code
If you are using the dynamic product code then you need to ensure that the Auto Generate Code is filled in as well. If you want the system to auto-generate a product code, then based on the configuration in the Dynamic Product Code screen it will take the 'Auto Generate Code' and use that within the product code it creates.
