Advanced Orders

This details a new upcoming module which is not available yet but is due Q4,2022

Advanced Orders is a replacement to the old EP module and is coming to Commerce soon, it is currently in the advanced stages of development and once implemented the old EP orders will continue but will not allow anything new to be added.

Advanced Orders is being designed to allow advanced selling of wines and spirits whilst also being able to maintain the VAT regulations and to provide you with a level of control, visibility that you have not previously had.

How will it work

It is similar to the existing method, where you enter what you are buying and who you are buying it from, this in turn allows you to generate a purchase order for the items.

You then sell the items you have agreed to purchase, entering a sales order for the goods.

There will also be an option to perform a direct sale within this AO module, this means you sell something directly to your customer and then fulfil from the supplier, allowing you to broker stock with a very quick turnaround.

The system then tracks invoicing and payment for these items, the invoice posts into the finance system at this point in the process to allow you to track and allocate the payment.

Once the goods arrive you will be able to see which orders you are able to fulfil on the allocation section but you can send your customer a notification the goods are available providing them with a choice of what they want to do with the delivery.

When they decide on the delivery you can then raise the duty/vat/delivery invoice for the customer and await payment of this before releasing the order which then moves the goods from the warehouse to the customer.

At all stages in the process you will be able to see the stage and status of the order, it will also allow for part call of for purchases and sales orders.

A video showing this working is planned for the release of the Advanced Orders module.
