VDIST-1583

Various delivery notification improvements

Improvement

Change to the Depot Maintenance to allow the ‘Despatch Confirmation’ timing to be configured there, previously this was hidden and only available to us to change.

A new transport item option in Distribution can now be configured to always print a delivery note regardless of the delivery’s ‘Delivery Note Option’, introduced for carriers who insist on being given a paper copy, you can start to set this to be ready for the future Vision Document Generator (VDG) release of the changes explained below.

IN THE FUTURE - changes will be made to the VDG to send this email instead of the Vision ePOD Processor.  When this happens the email could then include a copy of the delivery note for those deliveries which have the ‘Delivery Note Option’ set to send a PDF, and at this point it will also available for non ePOD deliveries.  A paper note would only be generated by Vision Document Generator for those with the ‘Delivery Note Option’ set to include a paper copy.

The electronic signature or scanned note will also be automatically sent by Vision Document Generator according to the delivery’s ‘POD Option’, this will be sent to the customer’s address to forward in the case of the delivery having no email address to send it to.

This also includes the fixes in VAM v1.1.2 so documents can now be emailed out directly from the VAM screen.

If a product should not have the discount / surcharge applied, the ‘Do not apply transport discount’ field in VW’s product maintenance should be marked.

Improvement

Various improvements to the Delivery screen Charges tab:

Clarity improved i.e. the Charge Band is now displayed, it’s clearer which fields are the pallet discounts, colour coding improved and other information added to explain how the charging works to users, in particular for the fuel surcharge which can take the percentage from the site / customer at the point the data is taken across to Invoicing.

Negative charges can no longer be input into the Additional Charges, the Handling Charge field has now returned as ‘Handling Adj Value’ which permits the entry of a negative value to allow users to manipulate the Calculated Charge.  Changes to Invoicing are coming early 2025 to display the additional charge lines rather than just a single value, until then the existing invoice layouts will display the ‘Additional Charge’ column as ‘Additional Charges’ - ‘Handling Adj Value’.
