Tax Certificates

This is used for the small producer tax certificates.

These are issued to small producers when they produce limited quantities of beer and allow the tax to be reduced for their products.

As a producer can supply multiple customers within the warehouse a single certificate is needed which can then be applied to the products that this brewery produce which can be in any customer's account.

Tax Certificate

This screen allows you to create or edit a Tax Certificate.

Select the ‘Tax Certificate Type’ from the dropdown option field, the options are

Select the ‘Brand’ from the dropdown field, this information comes from the brand table which is used when you enter a new product on the system. When you enter a new product and there is a tax certificate for the brand you are informed on the product entry screen to check for a tax certificate which can be applied.

The brand will auto-fill the next field which is an uneditable read-only field- ‘Issued To’.

The “Email Address” should be the producers email address or the contact who provided the ceritficate, when the ceritifacate is close to expiry a reminder is triggered to the producer to renew the information.

Small Producer Relief - Beer tax certificate issued to XYZ has an expiry date of 30/11/2023. Products configured to use this will not be able to claim the discounted duty rate beyond this date and will fallback to the full rate unless this is extended. Please contact enquiries@thewarehouse.co.uk at The Warehouse Ltd with the renewed certificate information.

The ‘Valid To’ field is where you can select the 'Valid Up To' date which indicates that the certificate will be valid until the date you select and after that, the certificate will no longer be valid.

Enter the Hectolitres per Annum, as this is used to calculate the actual discount from the full rate.

Tick the checkbox ‘Active’ to make the certificate active.

Audit Trail

An audit trail is provided to show changes to the tax certificate, this includes what field changed, who made the changes and the values changes as well as the modification date and time of each change.

You have to add a certificate to the system before adding it to the product, please remember there is a sliding scale for some duties so you need to be accurate with the information you enter into this certificate form.
