Common Issues

This page details some errors or issues you may see when using the EMCS system within Vision Bond. If you are experiencing an issue you cannot see detailed here please contact Vision Support.

HMRC Account Insufficient Permissions

If your HMRC account doesn’t have the necessary EMCS permissions assigned to it, after logging into EMCS on Vision Bond you will be automatically logged out after 6-8 minutes. If you are experiencing these logouts, please start by checking your HMRC account has the correct permissions on the HMRC website.

Submission’s Stuck at Submitted Status

Sometimes a Draft Submission for a new ARC can get stuck at a ‘Draft Submitted’ status when the ARC has actually posted to the online HMRC EMCS gateway. This is usually because HMRC have not sent the information for the ARC back from the gateway once it has been created. In this scenario please try the following in order:

  1. Make sure at least 20 minutes have passed since the ARC creation timestamp on the HMRC EMCS Gateway.

  2. Navigate the the EMCS Processing Screen in Vision Bond and then the failures tab. From here, select ‘Missing eAADs’ and input the ARC number accompanied by the relevant Warehouse Keeper Code from the drop down of options. You can then select ‘Re-Process message’ which will send a request for any information this ARC holds on the HMRC website. Please give this at least 10 minutes to see if it returns a response.

  3. If the above does not bring the ARC through, please contact Vision Support with the ARC number from the HMRC EMCS Gateway and the reference the request has in Vision Bond.
